3 days --> 3 weeks!

Make head way on my third week of college (to think, last post was just three DAYS into college). It's been a roller coaster ride, that's for sure, but I'm certainly enjoying it through and through, no joke.
Again, I'll probably just sum up a list of what's going on right now. I'm still forgetting about this blog a lot even though I promised I do this more often when I got into the swing of things (that hasn't particularly happened yet).
As promised, a summary:
  • Two beach visits so far. Once with a group of mostly Indonesian kids, another with some suite mates down the hall (found a few that are into anime!). Indonesian (or something of the sort) seems to be the other main group besides the anime crowd that I'm making friends with lately. Both times visiting the beach were wonderful. I guess you could count tonight's pizza run after the anime club meeting with five other guys sitting on the boardwalk a beach visit as you could hear and smell the ocean. I truly love Daytona Beach. :)
  • Classes are still going fairly well. No big surprises (though economics is proving too boring to hold attention to a lot of the time), no big flakes, getting all my homework done 1, if not 2, days in advance. It's nice to be able to hang out with the older student till 2am when I know I don't have class nor any homework to worry about tomorrow (well class starts at 1pm). I think this first semester will be more of exploring my surroundings rather than let homework get me down. It's a very nice change from the 3 AP classes in high school
  • Speaking of hanging out with the older students, I made about 4 more friends today during the anime club meeting, as well as a few friends that can help me with my cosplays/want me to cosplay with them! One boy, Chris, told me, after I had asked if he'd help me with my Black Rock Shooter cannon, "challenge accepted" and one of the first otaku girls I've really met, Jodi, told me she'd like me to cosplay Lea (Axel's somebody from KH: BBS) to couple with her Isa (Siax's somebody). It was a nice boost of my cosplaying confidence and I'm definitely ready for the new cons I'm going to.
  • Mentioning cons, I'm going to EXP con (about 45 minutes away) over fall break and I'm really excited. It's probably about the same size as Naka-Kon, but much more publicized (Mario's voice actor is going to be there, Vic Mignogna is going to be there, etc). I'm really stoked. I can't wait to tweak my BRS cosplay and look great (that means probably having a wig as well!).
  • Today was the activities fair (club and group booths for six hours) and I joined several clubs as well as made sure the ones I was already apart of knew I was still coming. Let's see, I'm now apart of:
    • Anything Goes Anime (this is occasionally joined with In the Game (console gaming) and Gamer's Guild (table-top gaming), but mostly just anime for me)
    • Kendo (yay physical training!)
    • S.P.A.C.E. Association (connections with private space administrations and NASA)
    • Objects in Motion (juggling and unicycling)
    • Scuba Diving
    • Pep Band whenever I can swing coming by and playing
    • Possibly women's surf club if time's not an issue D:
    • Still contemplating the robotics club (time factor)
    • Still contemplating the astronomy club (time factor)
  • It's a lot for clubs, but I'm most likely going to be dropping a few. Anime, scuba diving, S.P.A.C.E., and Kendo are kind of musts for me. Especially when I'm friends with a lot of people in half those clubs and I already hang out with them so much.
  • So yes, anyways, I feel like I've really fell into my clique. The gaming/anime group here is awesome and like I said sometime earlier today when we were chatting and they said that one of the group members made people drop by scaring them away, I will be a hard one to get rid of, seeing as I found my true group early on and I'm not planning on leaving it ANYTIME soon.
College has been great, my friends have been great (albeit being almost ALL boys) (it IS an engineering college, mind you), and my classes couldn't be easier for a first semester engineering student. I'm pretty damn happy right  now. The only thing I could ask for more of was hours in the day. But that could still mean less sleep for me :)
I should be going off to bed. My roommate is out but I am much too tired to create any kind of vlog to accompany this blog. But you still get pictures! I promised them last time! Enjoy my snapshots from over the last 3 weeks and I will be heading off to bed now.

Testing out my webcam, closet and door behind me
 Bed w/ wall decorations
Closet (it's a little bit neater now)
 My new home :)
 Desk area
Went to an over night LAN party, someone's built PC... In a shoebox
I have glow in the dark stars on my wall... And every night they remind me of my dream & why I'm here!

Much more and better pics to come (hopefully of my friends if I remember)!

  1. Well, I think the Astronomy Club would be something cool to be a part of, however I'm not sure on how much time they would take up (maybe once in a while they'll say "Hey, we're gonna go look at Mars on Friday" or something). Cool cool, I would like 30 hours in a day versus the 24 we have now. Yes, sleep would be a factor haha.
